Microsoft to launch “Pink” phones on April 12th

News is floating about that Microsoft will be launching their new “Pink” phone series at the upcoming “It’s Time To Share” event on April 12th. They are expected to show off the Turtle and Pure models, which are both smartphones, making this the first attempt Microsoft has made in the smartphone market.

The phones are codenamed “Pink” so don’t get too worried yet if you think you’re too manly for these Sidekick styled phones, because Pink most likely won’t be the marketing name for the phones. From a tech side, they are expected to run either Windows Mobile 6.5 or the new Windows Phone 7 operating system.

These phones are expected to fill the void left by the popular T-Mobile Sidekick market, bringing features enlisted on modern day smartphones. Above you can see a leaked photo of the Turtle.
