Congrats Mashable on becoming the #1 Tech/Social news site on the web

While checking out news on Mashable, I noticed that their Alexa Rank had actually stacked up a bit more on the listings, putting them ahead of TechCrunch. This basically puts them in the top spot past others like Boing Boing, Engadget, Gizmodo and others. With that in mind, we say congrats to the guys at Mashable for their work in bringing the latest tech and social news.

Mashable’s success can be attributed to the boom in the social networking business with sites such as Facebook and Twitter adding a major bang to the sector. TechCrunch however has suffered a bit because of the depression in the business economy, which had an effect on Silicon Valley start ups (which TechCrunch centers on). Sounds like we hate TechCrunch huh? Naw not really.
