In these hard economic times, people are not letting cash stop them from doing what they have to do. With things like an iPad and the Internet, a wedding was able to go on even with the bridesmaid being 1,500 miles away.

Renee Armstrong was selected to be one of Jamie Wilborn’s bridesmaids but couldn’t make the 1,500 mile journey to Denver, Colorado because of  financial limitations. However not getting a plane ticket did not stop her from attending the wedding. With the help of an iPad 2 and FaceTime, she was able to experience every living moment via the web.

One of the groomsmen was responsible for carrying her down the aisle and also got to line up with the rest of the bridesmaids to witness the two lovers unite in marriage. It seems the audience was in a bit of shock, some of them even letting out a few giggles as she was ‘escorted’ down the aisle.

All didn’t go too well though at the wedding rehearsal after the slightly drunk groomsman dropped the iPad 2 on the floor, but Apple was able to easily fix that in time for the actual wedding.

While technology has come a long way, it’s still a bit sad to see people proposing over text messages, getting married to video game characters and attending weddings via iPads. I’m pretty sure she could have gotten a cheap flight on Southwest.
